About Me

I live in Baltimore, an awesome city that I've called home for most of my life. Though I was born here in the states, the majority of my family hails from Trinidad and Tobago. I attended Loyola Blakefield High School (same school as some guy named Tom Clancy) in Towson, MD. I graduated in 2005 from the great Morgan State University in Baltimore with a B.A. in English/Journalism.

I have a professional background in print journalism as well as corporate communications. I also freelance part-time, and I've had articles appear in newspapers such as The Catholic Review, The Baltimore Sun, The Baltimore Afro, The Baltimore Times, The Daily Record, and The Baltimore Business Journal. From November 2015 until January 2017, I was lucky enough to work on the speech writing staff of Carolyn W. Colvin, former Acting Commissioner of the Social Security Administration.

My first novel, Fate's Destiny, I actually wrote in like 2008. However, the story itself came to me back when I was in high school. After trying for years to get it published the traditional route, I decided to break the rules, do it myself, and self publish it. My second book, In Search of..., is a collection of various stories that I, similarly, had in my head for years, finally getting the mettle to put them on paper and publish them in 2017.

My hobbies include reading, writing, watching almost anything sports related, especially football (go Cowboys!) and basketball, eating, sleeping when I can (because sleep is truly underrated!) working out, and travelling. I love stretching my limits and trying new things, and it's my goal to go somewhere new at least once a year.

Classic movie

I don't watch much TV, but I do enjoy going to the movies. Some of my favs include Bad Boys, Gladiator, Usual Suspects, Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs (pretty much ANYTHING Tarantino), Inception, The Dark Knight, Coming to America, and Beverly Hills Cop.

One of the best ever

I like to listen to a lot of different music, though I mainly listen to hip hop, R&B, and some rock. Jay-Z is by far my favorite rapper of all time, but I'm a huge fan of Mr. Kanye West. Some of my other fav artists include the late great Biggie Smalls, Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, J. Cole, and Lauryn Hill, as well as Maroon 5 and Coldplay.
